Meet the Fall 2016 Change Agents

Throughout the academic year, the University of Mississippi Office of Sustainability offers several leadership opportunities to students interested in advancing sustainability on campus. Students go through a competitive application process to join the office’s Green Student Intern Program, EcoRep Leaders cohort, or Green Grove Ambassador program. They then dedicate a significant amount of time to sustainability projects on campus, in addition to balancing classes and extracurricular activities. Meet the students who are working hard this semester to foster a culture of sustainability on campus below.

Green Student Intern Program

The Office of Sustainability’s Green Student Intern Program (GSIP) employs students during the summer, fall, and spring semesters to work on sustainability projects that benefit the students and university alike. This semester, 10 interns are working on projects including the Green Grove Gameday Recycling Program, composting and food waste reduction, sustainable transportation, sustainable food and nutrition and marketing and communications.  These students manage an internship, academic work, and campus involvement all while being an important asset to the Office of Sustainability.
