Commuting is expensive. Reduce the cost of your commute with Zimride! The Zimride rideshare program was designed to help decrease commuting costs of university faculty, staff and students. Registering with Zimride is quick and posting and finding rides is easy.

Getting Started With Zimride

Go to zimride.com/olemiss and sign up using your Ole Miss email address.

Zimride will send an email with a link to complete the registration process. Copy and paste the link in a new tab.

The registration link sends you to a page that asks you about your commute and whether you are willing to drive or if you are only interested in being a passenger. Fill out the information on this page if you would like to immediately post a ride or book a ride. If you want to skip posting or booking a ride immediately, press “Skip” at the top of the page.

If you press skip, you are directed to complete your profile. Put up a picture and add some general information about yourself in order to let the future passengers and drivers you will be carpooling with know a little about you.

Using Zimride:

Once you have finished registering for Zimride, you are ready to carpool! Zimride has features that make posting, booking, and scheduling rides easy and convenient.

 

Use the Dashboard to manage the rides you are offering and have booked and to view and edit your commute calendar.

Use the Commute Calendar to plan when you will carpool, when you will be driving alone, and when you will be using alternative modes of transportation. The commute calendar also features a savings calculator that estimates how much money you will save by carpooling and the amount of CO2 you have prevented from being released because of carpooling.

To post a ride, click the “Post a Ride” button on the top right hand corner of the page. You will be asked about the logistics of your commute, how much each passenger should pay a day, and how many seats are available in your vehicle.

If you need to cancel a ride that you have posted or book click the “Dashboard” tab and scroll down to the “My Rides” section. Click on “Deactivate” below the ride you wish to cancel. Zimride will send out a message to your passengers or your driver that the ride has been canceled.

Find a ride by clicking the “Search” tab. In the search tab, you can see what rides have been posted on the Ole Miss Zimride Network, the route of the ride, and the commute time of the driver, how many seats are available in the vehicle, and how much the ride will cost per day.
